Suppliers
The Isle of Mull, indeed much of the West Coast of Scotland, has many gifted farmers, fishermen and food producers delivering some of the best produce that can be found anywhere. We are lucky enough to have some of them as our suppliers:
ISLE OF MULL CHEESE Since the early 80’s the Reade family have tended their herd of predominantly Friesian cows producing one of the most famous cheeses in Scotland. It is superb, and you can visit their farm or pick up a slice in person. It’s just behind Tobermory on the road to Glengorm. www.isleofmullcheese.co.uk
D J CAMPBELL & SON From Achnashelloch farm, Argyll they supply us with fresh free range eggs, semi-skimmed milk and cream
TOBERMORY DISTILLERY This small, but almost perfectly formed, distillery produces around 1 million litres of the water of life every year. There are several ages and bottlings to try, each with a very distinctive taste. The tour is fascinating, and well worth going to. It’s worth booking in advance if you’re interested. But if you don’t manage it, all the local hostelries stock them so you can compare and contrast with the local wildlife at the same time! www.tobermorymalt.com
TOBERMORY ALE Now brewed in Oban, this is our local brew. We stock the Light and Dark Ales, when available, so try it for yourself.
BRODIES Brodies are a long established Edinburgh tea and coffee merchant. We serve Scottish breakfast and afternoon teas along with their Columbian Supremo coffee. Their products are available from a number of retail outlets including the House of Bruar. Brodies recommend Jenners of Edinburgh and the National Trust for Scotland as their retailers. www.brodie.1867.com
