For centuries, the Isle of Mull has inspired visitors. Dr Johnson and James Boswell visited in 1773; Keats in 1818; Mendelssohn was inspired to create the Hebridean Overture in 1829; JMW Turner in the 1830's and in 1859 Wordsworth visited and wrote poetry here.

There's the fantastic Mull Theatre www.mulltheatre.com and a superb arts centre in Tobermory www.antobar.co.uk
One of the most iconic Scottish films of the 20th century is 'I Know Where I'm Going' starring Wendy Hiller and Roger Livesey. Filmed on location in Mull in 1944 - and in the studio at Denham - it's one of Powell and Pressberger's best loved films. Visit Mull and some of the locations used for filming.
