Hogmanay
Hogmanay is only just past yet we're already planning 2010. These are last years details and we'll update the website as soon as we can.
HOGMANAY CELEBRATIONS AT THE WESTERN ISLES HOTEL
Join us at the Western for a truly memorable finale to 2009, and welcome in 2010 in style. Here’s a 2 day break which you can extend for as long as you like to make the most of your stay in beautiful Tobermory.
HOGMANAY: THURSDAY 31ST DECEMBER 2009
Arrive at the Western Isles and warm yourself with a complementary dram of Tobermory malt or tea and scones in front of the roaring fire Join us for a complementary glass of Champagne before settling down to enjoy Adam and his team’s fabulous Hogmanay dinner: From 10pm we will be joined by Pete Maries and friends who will entertain us with traditional Scottish music. Just enjoy the music or join in the dances. Tobermory is well known for its wonderful Hogmanay firework display over the harbour. Weather permitting of course, you’ll enjoy the spectacle from one of the best vantage points: the Western Isles terrace or you could go down to the clock tower and join the throng.
NEW YEARS DAY: FRIDAY 1ST JANUARY 2010
A leisurely start to the day, with a buffet brunch served in the restaurant from 9.00 until 2.00. Join us whenever you feel like it. Spend the afternoon at leisure, exploring our beautiful island or just pottering around the local countryside. Aros Park, the walk to the lighthouse or just sitting by the harbour, there’s plenty so see and do.
Caledonian MacBrayne www.calmac.co.uk have published their winter timetable and there is no ferry service on 1st January, and only a limited service on the 2nd, so you may like to extend your stay. Special rates are available if you arrive before the 30th December or stay on into 2010. The festive period is a wonderful time to stay in Tobermory, however being on an island means that our suppliers have an even greater challenge getting their produce to us. This may mean our menu may change.
