About Us
In September 2008, the Western Isles Hotel returned to being privately owned and managed.
As the new owners, Richard Nealon and Esplin Chapman, we are actively working to bring the hotel up to its former glory, which is needing an ongoing series of renovation projects. We are passionate that guests should enjoy their time with us - whether it's staying with us for a week, or just dropping in for mid-morning coffee. And we do this by making sure the atmosphere is welcoming, the service is friendly and the food is fantastic. It goes without saying that the hotel should be clean and warm
So whilst the hotel may be a little well worn around the edges, if you're here to relax and enjoy the spectacular location, then you're in for a treat.
Naturally we wouldn't be able to do this without a great team who are dedicated to the same goals. Ruedi Hein has returned to Mull after several years in exile in Glasgow and brings lots of exciting ideas to his role of Head Chef; Fiona McCormick is Front of House Manager and Debi Williams is Head Receptionist. The picture gallery at the top of the page shows us along with our 2 cocker spaniels, Jasper and Pru. Richard is follically challenged, Jasper has a nice shiny black coat and Pru (short for Prudence) is just gorgeous. Well behaved dogs are very welcome at the Western Isles.
